- Freestanding vs fixed vs temporaryFor freestanding/counterweighted systems (BS 13700) we focus on stability, ballast layout, post centres, corners and returns, and ensure membrane protection is intact. For fixed guardrails and balustrades (BS 6180 / ISO 14122-3) we review anchorage condition, geometry for the intended use/occupancy, and integration with parapets, stairs, landings and platforms. For temporary edge protection (BS EN 13374) we confirm the correct class (A/B/C) for the works phase, check attachment details and time follow-up inspections to programme milestones or significant events.
